Dominic Gorecky is a German engineer and pioneer of Industry 4.0. He is Co-founder and Head of the Swiss Smart Factory, Head of the Swiss Heath Tech Center and Executive Board Member and Partner of Switzerland Innovation Park Biel/Bienne. The Swiss Smart Factory is the first test and demonstration platform for Industry 4.0 topics in Switzerland.
Before, he was Head of Research of the Innovative Factory Systems department at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence DFKI in Kaiserslautern, Germany. In this role, he was also the responsible R&D coordinator for the SmartFactoryKL, the world’s first living lab for manufacturing. He is agenda contributor at the World Economic Forum and member of the Swiss Academy of Engineering and Technological Sciences. He is co-founder and advisor for several start-ups in the area of Industry 4.0. His PhD thesis addressed the application of semantic technologies in the context of the Digital Factory.
He is also a Co-founder and President of the Board of the newly founded “Swiss Cobotics Competence Center” (S3C), a national hub for industrial and academic partners to jointly develop and test the next generation of cobotic solutions.
In 2022, Dominic has been recognized as a Digital Shaper in Switzerland.
